I never ever, could see myself getting this excited about one sparrow. I mean I have a whole flock of house sparrows. Its the first I've seen in this garden. I very nearly dropped camera, that would of cost, phew!
I will not sleep tonight wondering if he will return tomorrow!

For viewing or photography right place right time is everything. I'd rather be in the right place with poor kit than have the best kit and be in the wrong place.

Great news John. In my experience around our area it would be unusual to see one lone tree sparrow. Anyhow I would hate to think the poor bird didn't have a friend nearby.

Hi John, how lovely to see your tree sparrow and they are great pictures. Please keep them coming. We have sparrows but I assume them to be house sparrows. I will look closer now I know what to look for ;) Hope you had a good trip.

I find the link below useful. Have a look at House Sparrow and Tree Sparrow and you will see the difference (house sparrow has a black cap with a bit of chestnut brown whereas the tree sparrow's cap is all chestnut brown).

Wonderful photos John - bit like buses - don't see any for ages and than a whole lot come all at once lol! - funnily enough I think we get these but until I get to grips with the camera I won't know for sure, unless I'm getting confused with the house sparrow...!!

I just have House Sparrows (and Dunnocks).

Today I counted Three but only have two in one photo. I will keep trying!
