Tree Sparrow

I never ever, could see myself getting this excited about one sparrow. I mean I have a whole flock of house sparrows. Its the first I've seen in this garden. I very nearly dropped camera, that would of cost, phew!

I will not sleep tonight wondering if he will return tomorrow!

Fingers crossed

John

For viewing or photography right place right time is everything. I'd rather be in the right place with poor kit than have the best kit and be in the wrong place.

  • Wow! That's fantastic John!! I've been waiting with bated breath since your post in the other the thread!! Good for you! Look forward to seeing more pics!! :-)

    Hi John

    What a fabulous discovery.  Hope your little friend returns, and look after that camera of yours {wink}

    Only ever seen Tree Sparrows at Titchwell Reserve a year or two ago.  They are such attractive little birds with their white cheek colourings.  There where two on the garden feeders there and they caused quite a stir with all the bird watchers there, {smile}

    As MarJus has said a lot more pictures please {thumbs up}

  • Terrific news John. I know just how you feel as I couldn't believe the house sparrow that turned up (finally, after 5 years of waiting) for me the other day. I only managed the one photo and I'm glad I got that otherwise by now I'd have begun to think I'd dreamt it! I sooo hope yours is with you to stay. Do keep us posted please.

    The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.

    The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!

  • Well spotted! I've never seen a tree sparrow. Thanks to your great photos now I know what I'm looking for!

  • Day two in the tree Sparrow hoose.  Happy to report he is back.

    Looks like I will not get much done today, again!

  • Fantastic! Hopefully, he will encourage more to join him!!

  • Brilliant news - and photos. As for not getting anything done - I always regard the necessity of bird-watching as being a really good reason to avoid all forms of housework ☺ ☺ ☺

  • Highland McHale, once again, lovely photoographs. We seem to have plenty of tree sparrow around here.

     I was excited last week when visiting my sister on the Dee estuary, Cheshire to see two long- billed dowitcher (juv). They were a first for me.

  • I have returned from my trip to find I no longer have a Tree Sparrow visiting my feeders. I have a hand full, at least three. I was too slow with camera but when I get more than one in shot I will post! Hope every one is well.
