At long, long last... only the one but it's a start...
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
Hi Squirrel
I really feel for you, I know what you mean when you try so hard and it doesn't happen and then one day it all changes. Now that he knows what tasty morsels are on offer I'm sure he and all his buddies will start coming in.
Like you, I've been many years feeding and some birds which you know are around still play hard to get!
Regards
Kerry

I'm sure you know the answer to this (even before seeing the pic of the female!) but for those who are still wondering, you can tell the male by his black bib (or in this picture, goatee beard!). These get much more pronounced (larger, darker) in the breeding season, and by observation, seem to be much less pronounced in younger birds.
Lol at your partners comments!
Make the boy interested in natural history if you can; it is better than games [Robert Falcon Scott]
Well done Squirrel, He's just as interested in you as you are in him.
John
For viewing or photography right place right time is everything. I'd rather be in the right place with poor kit than have the best kit and be in the wrong place.
Hi Cartimundua
I for one didn't know so thank you very much for your explanation!
Hi John - he certainly was interested, and not in the slightest bit perturbed by the flash. He didn't bat an eyelid. I think it's the first time I have been out-stared by a bird!
Cartimandua - many thanks for that info. All I need now then is for him to bring on the girls!
