At long, long last... only the one but it's a start...
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
Oh Squirrel,
What a lovely shot!
Regards
Kerry

Thanks Kezmo - it honestly was pure luck as I glanced up from my pc and simply didn't believe what I was seeing. It's amazing the pic came out at all considering I was momentarily frozen to the spot. Five years plus I've been feeding my feathered friends (and one grey squirrel) and in all that time I've seen dunnocks aplenty but not one house sparrow. He / she didn't stay long but I am hoping he / she was a House Sparrow Scout and has now returned to tell all the friends and rellies that four feeder tables means loads of food for all. ☺

Everything in life is speaking in spite of its apparent silence.
hi Squirrel
I have to say he is one handsome House Sparrow boy, and you got him spot on
Well done to you!

Hi Tish and Kathy... many thanks for the kind words. I cannot tell you how over the moon I was to see him - is it a "him"? It's been so long since I've seen a house sparrow I've forgotten if there is a difference between the sexes! Anyway, I was so excited I promptly phoned OH at work and said "I've got a house sparrow..." - to which he replied "don't worry I'll deal with it when I get home". Talk about cross purposes...☺
Hi Squirrel.
That's a lovely picture of a fantastic wee bird. It's always a great pleasure to see them.

Nice one Squirrel! What a handsome chap he is too!
Here's to plenty more! ;-)

Hi Paul and Lucy, many thanks for your comments also. Lucy, he was looking at me! I had the camera set on "red eye reduction" which meant the flash went off before the picture was taken. The flash attracted his attention and all I could do was hold my breath and silently pray that it didn't spook him. Spook him...? Quite the reverse - he just looked straight at me in a "What you doing, then...?" kind of way.
Hi MarJus - what a superb pic of the female. Brilliant photo and many thanks for showing me the female version. It's a pity your bird and mine are so far apart as she's a real cutey so they'd make a rather handsome couple. Good grief, I'm bird match-making now...☺
