I have a toad that has taken up residence in the grid into which the kitchen sink empties, hot water sometimes greasy and sometimes with chemicals in is flushed into the grid but it doe's not seem to harm it how it got in is a mystery because there is a wooden block over the drain with a very narrow gap. Should I leave it there or evict it I do not want to hurt it, it goes then comes back.

Iwould take it out and release under cover in the garden.
Toads and frogs can squeaze through the smallest of places block up the gap or he will be back

I agree with Barnsley lad; I'd be inclined to find a nice cool, damp and sheltered spot in the garden and put your toad there. Maybe if you've some old terracotta flowerpots you could make a refuge area for it. I had a frog in the garden regularly at one time and she seemed to appreciate an untidy muddle of old flowerpots and bits of wood with garden trimmings draped over them in a damp corner of the patio.

Hi Alan thanks I think it likes the sauna two or three times a day I think I would miss it when I lift the lid and it was not there.
Hi B.L. I think it would not last long out in the garden too many magpies and cats so will leave in place for now.

Its your decision but the toad does not need to be in a place where detergents are present.
Don't worry about cats and magpies or even dogs and foxes they won't eat a toad . they squirt an acidy liqiud from the back end that tastes dreadfull. I had my own terrier frothing at the mouth for a good hour after picking a small toad up and soon dropped it. The only bird I would think to worry about is the Heron. Just think of the Toad and is there food in there for it to fatten for the winter hiberation.
i would move it to a safer area too like ray said think of its food if detergant is running down your plug hole onto the toad and any thing it eats eventualy it will die in their due to slow poisoning and that would be sad
