Over the last 2 evening I have seen a Thrush with a worm in its mouth sitting on my garden wall. I watched it tonight and it flew into a small Willow that protrudes out of my Devon bank. It was closely followed by a Blackbird. Would the 2 varieties of bird nest in the same tree?
Sounds unlikely, are you certain it was a Thrush and not a female Blackbird which can have a very light & speckled chest?

I have just looked at a picture on google of a female blackbird and I now know that the bird I saw was probably a female blackbird. I am very pleased to have blackbirds nesting in my Willow in my Devon bank. Do they come back each year to the same place?
It seems that they do ...

Thank you so much for your really helpful information. If the Blackbirds have young now is it likely that they will have more this year?
They can 2-3 have broods in a year
