Black red flash keep nesting in my garage then get eaten by cats when large enough to make a tasty morsel. It is horrible. Can I construct something on the outside of the garage for the birds which is less accessible? What would suit them?
Sorry, but I don't understand what you've written. Which country are you posting from? What is a "black red flash"? When you say, "garage", does that mean it has doors?
Edit at 08:10. More awake now. I'm guessing you had spell autocheck/correct and you mean black redstart, and that going by your user name, you are in Switzerland? This is a UK forum. Obviously, feel free to post and reference the site, but knowledge of other countries, laws, species etc is more limited.
Assuming you are in Switz and that they are black redstarts, I'd personally keep the garage shut so they don't nest in there. If it is a carport, I'd get a cat scarer. Not sure what's on the market there, but a mains powered one like https://shopping.rspb.org.uk/bird-feeders-boxes-tables/bird-care-accessories/bird-safety-hygiene/catwatch-deterrent-with-mains-adaptor.html is least ineffective. Battery powered, far less effective and rival brands seem totally ineffective from my experience.
