Hi there
I noticed a Starling on our make-shift feeder this morning.
Is it a juvenile one by chance?
The seeds had dropped into the flower basket and the bird was happily picking out the sunflower hearts to eat.
Dave had the camera ready, and it was very happy to pose for us.
Wonder where its friends are or if it one on its own-some
Anyone else have the odd Starling in their garden now - most of them have disappeared now.
Hi
This year I watched as 2 adults produces 6 offspring, all of whom grew ferociously and now are large juveniles they have eaten me out of house and home. I put out 6 large bird feeders each with a different food, wishing to cater for every taste and to attract a wide variety of birds. The 6 of them come and devour almost everything in a week or two! Leaving precious little for the smaller birds. Working in a tight knit group they can frighten my pair or very fat pidgins! what will happen next year? 36 new baby starlings???
