It's quite unusual for me to snap a local magpie as they're generally quite shy but this one must have been unusually relaxed - it not only posed, it preened!
There was a second magpie below this one but it wasn't posing for me! I hope you all enjoy these.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

I did but it was a bit hazy.
For such a big bird, they are very quick to take flight, so congrats on the photos Clare! Nice to see him sat still and preening.
