Growing in an old dung heap...

These are growing like triffids now, and even spreading like a carpet over the pathways. There are some sort of eggs under the leaves that I hope will provide catepillars for the birds. The one in the picture is from a single seed popped into the old manure heap area of Llys Trerobert's bird garden, and just for fun.

  • I have been trying to practice and improve my photography, honest I have! Stood next to the dahlias to take this one, and was shocked to see the one plant has grown taller than me now. It must be about 5'6" - 5'8" now!

At the other end of the scale, this pansy has suddenly appeared in a planter where I'd tossed the leftover aquilegia seeds from 2009. Lol

I have no idea how it got there. Neither do I know how a currant bush has grown near to the sparrows' favourite feeding station.

Left the salad bowl lettuce to go to seed, thinking something would surely lay eggs on it or make a meal of it, but no sign of either yet, apart from a tiny hole in one leaf and a little nibble on the edge of another.

Either things are hatching out and being eaten immediately by all the birds, or else the anticipated bugs just are not around.
