This has started growing by the bird table. It must be a sprouted seed, but what is it?
That reminds me, I'd better do a bit of weeding in this nice weather. Tennis/weeding/tennis/weeding?? Hmmmm........
Hmm, it does not look like a weed ! must be something in the bird seed mix !
It looks like Basil !
But even if it isn't Basil, I think it's a good name for thon wee sprout :)
Only one sprout? You must have very tidy birds!!! I have a wonderful rape flower, now over 3 feet tall and bushy, with the pretty yellow flowers all over it. I let this grow but pulled all the others. I also have a field of nyjer sprouting from the gravel and several plant pots. There is also something else growing in the tortoise enclosure, but they seem to enjoy eating it. Hope it isn't poisonous!
Cheers, Linda.

The one I was thinking of was willow herb. It has tiny pink flowers.
Well, I shall leave it and see. Though it will probably be trampled underfoot in the rush when all the other Starlings arrive!

Wouldn't mind betting it turns out to be a sunflower. Before you can turn round it will be 8 ft tall and you can harvest the seed. That'll save some money. Of course you will have to buy a step ladder to reach it so perhaps not.

That will save a bit of money!
Then I can enter it for the tallest sunflower competition on Blue Peter?
