The Future Generations Commissioner’s office has launched a national conversation, asking the people of Wales what matters most to them and what they want to see prioritised in future.
The initiative aims to give the public an opportunity to speak up for the issues that they care about, ahead of the publication of the Future Generations Report next May.
The publication of this report is likely to prove influential in the development of all parties’ political manifestos in the run up to the 2021 election and will be used to inform the next Welsh Government. As well as outlining recommendations for the future, the report will also share progress public bodies have made since 2017.
While we regularly respond to consultations here at RSPB Cymru, the Commissioner is asking the people who are the future of Wales for their views via their online story-telling platform.
Nature and biodiversity are included as options on the People’s Platform, giving nature-enthusiasts an excellent opportunity to share their ideas and experiences. Whether you want to ask for better protections for your favourite species or suggest ways in which the current ecological emergency can tackled, now is your chance to do so.
By submitting a nature-related story, you’ll be playing an important role in ensuring that biodiversity is high on the Future Generations Commissioner and the Welsh Government’s agendas.
If you have a story, experience or suggestion that you’d like to share, you can join the Our Future Wales conversation here.
