my garden is now filled with wall to wall chaffinches. they seem to have taken over the flower beds.
We didnt have a single one when we did the bird watch-typical!
They are a wonderful sight to see and are increasing in numbers it seems, well done with your Chaffinches.

There seems to be a bit of a trend in birds moving into gardens at the moment, maybe due to a lack of natural food in the wider environment (is that time of year where a 'food gap' can take its toll on our birdlife) mixed in with an unsettled weather system.
Here at the Lodge the feeders have gone crazy in the last few days with lots of siskin, lesser redpoll, brambling and loads of chaffinches and tits!
