I left my hour to the afternoon on Sunday 27th, but none of the usual birds called in, despite having been around early morning, when I didn't have time to watch. The weather in this part of Berkshire was particularly grim, wild and stormy in the afternoon. A few birds flew overhead, but none settled. Naturally, the next day they were all happy to eat and settle in the garden again.
" Look at the birds of the air: they do not sow or reap... and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them" (Matt 5: 26), and we can do our bit!
Same in Solihul, very dissapointing.
Saturday 15:00-16:00 intermittent hale/rain near High Wycombe Bucks, only 6 birds. The weekend before there were loads in the garden when covered in snow! I was bored. Worst year. There's always next year.
Same down in Dorset, I left my hour until Sunday as Saturday we were out in the garden with my two little boys and apart from the odd brave robin nothing usually appears until they are inside! None of my usual birds appeared at all on Sunday.
