I have just spotted a large bird eating the last of the small crab apple berries on my tree... The bird looked too white underneath to be a thrush, could this be due to the snowy weather ?

thanks I did wonder but thought it was too early certainly the habitat is local. Interesting that's a first in my garden as far as I know
We usually have fieldfares yet haven't seen any this year! (Down in Sussex, not far from the coast)

Noticed this post & had to say, we had 5 fieldfares in the garden last week. 1st for us but usually see them in the hawthorn bushes in the field behind us. Shame they didn't turn up for the BGBW..
