Also female blackcap and a male came later.

Sorry mate I've got Redwing overload!
Definitely fieldfare....not many of them around this winter, certainly not in my neck of the woods...
There was a field full of redwing & fieldfare up here in the Highlands at the start of the new year. First time I had ever seen them. :)
Well done. Definitely worth waiting for. Both Fieldfares and Redwings are everywhere at the moment. The cold snap is bringing them into gardens. Good for us but it probably means their natural food supply in the wider countryside is in short supply.

Must admit did think redwing first. It's first time I've ever had this many fieldfares, usually just one guarding neighbours apple tree. Hasn't arrived this year. Shame it used to be quite funny seeing it chase off everything else. The only bird it never chased was a male blackcap.
I had fieldfares for the first time last winter. Had never seen one before and had to look up what it was! Only 1 in the garden daily during this cold spell but husband said there is a flock visiting a field on our farm - better show it the way to the fallen apples I left in the garden before the green woodpeckers and blackbirds eat them all!!
