10 fieldfares appreared today on a cheery tree laden with old fruit. Respenedent in the snowy Cheshire landscape of iur garden. Last year they were in the garden in late December.
Seems to be a pretty good year for Fieldfares and Redwings up here. Let's hope we get some Waxwings again soon.

We've got 3 Fieldfares that turned up in the garden yesterday and immediately laid claim to the berry covered holly bush.
They have spent both days aggressively chasing every other bird away. Even the cheeky robin can't land in his own tree!
One upside to the snow is that the high light level makes all the birds' plumage look even more magnificent.
