Having spotted them for the first time in the birdwatch last weekend, we have not seen up to 11 at a time. with three inches of snow here in Kent, they are back this morning on the nyger. Fab.
I meant that we have NOW seen 11 at a time!
I have just had 2 on my nyger feeder, first ones i have ever seen...proper made up!
And they are still here.......!
Have just seen 2 on my nyger seeds in Harefield, west of London. Thought they were young goldfinches at first. Managed to get a photo, through glass, but a definite sighting!
Helen - I'm a big show off when it comes to redpolls - I started off with one and then they kept coming and coming until at their peak I had 42! They have been in my garden since mid December now, although of late they have dwindled to about 20 (shame!). I'm hoping the remainder will keep on coming for some time to come - my garden is going to seem so empty once they've gone.
So keep on counting and I will watch with interest to see how your little flock progresses! Great to have them, isn't it?
