for you goldfinch lovers,i have always found niger seeds the best to attract the most finches,but have noticed when they get close on a feeder they become aggresive,so sprinkle seed on the lawn and have attracted up to 30 at one time,quite a sight.i also have sunflower hearts,but they are taken by the tits mostly. a couple of pictures for those goldfinch lovers. regards mags
I've had nyger seed out in the garden for a few days now in the hope of attracting them, but no sign yet :(
Give them chance, they'll find it. They also seem to like sunflower hearts.

hi alexandra we got niger feeder from our local jollyes store they are one of the largest pet food chain stores around and have stores nationwide.you can log onto them and they have a store locator on sight so you will be able to find yuor nearest store. regards mags
I put out Nyger seed and sunflower seed but only get a 2 goldfinches in the summer. I don't know if they are the same two.

Fabulous pictures. Very photogenic little birds! I've had both sunflower hearts and nyger out for almost a year now and whilse I get one or two goldfinch I never get more than that, but get lots and lots of redpolls who can't get enough of the nyger.
