Reflections

We have a wistiria branch, crossing in front of a wall mounted mirror, in an enclosed rear garden. Have recently been thoroughly entertained by a blue tit at one end of the brach, and a dunnock at the other, both furiously pecking at their reflections, to ward off thier rivals!!!!!!!!

  • Hi Graham, as it's approaching the breeding season many garden birds are busily defending their territories. Whilst it can be entertaining to watch it does mean that the birds are using up lots of energy that would be better spent fending off real rivals or conserving the energy to help them through the current harsh weather. Maybe cover the mirror up for a while to give them a bit of respite.
