I thought the RSPB would be interested in all the birds that we saw. It seemed strange to be told, the birds that we put in the box at the bottom of the form would not be counted towards the BGBW. If you only count some birds there may be a decline or improvement in the ones that have not been included & then you don't see the big picture of the bird population. I would like all the birds I saw to count.
I can only guess that anything not common enough to be on those lists is unlikely to yield statistically significant numbers.
