A brighter interlude in the weather before lunch brought a few birds to our E Yorks garden, probably to celebrate the BGBW! A goldcrest - the first I'd seen this winter in the garden - and a bullfinch - a bird which is often heard but only occasionally seen. This winter bullfinches have been seen far more than in previous years.
Hi green, aren`t the bull finches the most beautiful birds? We have never had one in the garden but visit a wood within travelling distance of our home where we view them regularly.
The early bird catches the worm. No wonder I`m always starving!
Hi Green, a couple of good spots you've got there. I've noticed more Bullfinches around here in South Yorkshire, but they haven't ventured into my garden yet.

Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.

Hi all, it must be a Yorkshire thing! We have had 2-3 pairs of bullfinches feeding in the garden most days for the last year or two. Long may it continue, one of my favourites! We are on the East side of York.
