Was really happy - doing the BGB in the car park at Errington Woods , New Marske and saw a treecreeper for the very first time. Amazing.
However no Blue Tits even though I normally see them regularly here
I get blue tits usually but only great tits today.
No blue tits here either, i'm guessing they might still be roaming the hedgerows in their mixed winter flocks. I've been hearing lots of great tits singing and calling at the Lodge reserve recently, how about yours?
As for the treecreeper, great sighting!

Thanks Ian - There were Great Tits flitting in an out today but only saw two at once maximum. Also got a lot of Coal Tits (6 at once) and what I think were Marsh tits (again 6 at once). I know that it is difficult to distinguish Marsh Tits from Willow Tits but these were in a broadleaf woodland which, I believe, is the preferred habitat of the Marsh Tit
Marsh and willow tits are very tricky to split, the calls are the best way to do it if you are lucky enough to hear them! Either species is a great find in the garden though!
I got blue tits, coal tits and great tits Sunday.
Kind regards Richard.
