Why do the birds never come when you want them to? Only visitors in our garden were a Robin and a Magpie. Plenty of other birds flying and singing in the trees at the side of the canal which runs past the bottom of our garden, but I think there must be enough natural food about so we can't tempt them at the moment.
I think they must know we are watching them lol.

Have just sat for the last hour and have seen almost nothing ! It is really, really quiet and quite worrying !
I stood there for an hour and did,nt see as many as usual,but could hear them in the trees.
I thought I was the only one not seeing the birds today. I think they know they are being counted. Last weekend there were 25 Goldfinches feeding in the garden today just 1
They know - I did my watch yesterday - half the regulars did not show. I was looking out the window at the same time today - guess what - most of the regulars showed!
