I was really looking forward to this as we get such an assortment of birds and in great numbers......
this morning however they must have found richer pickings elsewhere. The Jays and the Woodpecker were
a complete no show and they show up at least 4 or 5 times a week. The chaffinches' who come every day were
no where to be seen no wrens no sparrows and only 1 long tailed tit........The woodpigeons were a let down as well
as I usually get at least 6 most days... superb fit things they are too... this morning...???? only one. However the
ever loyal Blue Tits and Great Tits turned up on que, not quite as many as usual but still good....Just got the feeling they all knew
somehow what we were up to and were sitting in the trees chuckling at us...
Hi Walkers, thanks for taking part. Glad to hear some of your regulars made an appearance but as you will see from lots of the other posts in the BIg Garden Birdwatch forum, loads of us had less activity than normal, especially when compared with last winter when the cold weather forced many more birds to take refuge in our gardens. It will bevery interesting to see what the overall results reveal!

Hello, I'm new to the forum. I found this too. I was really disappointed that a lot of my regulars didn't turn up. Even the number of starlings halved from the previous year.
I'm new too, & had the same disappointment, fewer birds than on an average day, & no blackcap at all. He's a regular visitor normally.
Hello Walkers, Pat and Carol. Welcome to the forum from me in Lancashire.
Cheers, Linda.
