The wonderful Steve Backshall - Wildlife and Adventure Presenter, and long standing RSPB supporter – has been trekking round the world filming the latest Deadly 60 series. But he took time out between scuba diving with sharks and sailfish in Mexico to encourage everyone to take part in Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend.
Steve says:
“You don't have to go to exotic places round the world to go looking for wild wonders, the birds in your backyard are just as brilliant. Have your own dead exciting 60 minutes on 28 or 29 January, and take part in Big Garden Birdwatch. Watch the drama on your doorstep, and help nature at the same time.”
We love Steve, and can’t wait to see those sailfish on our screens, but in the meantime, please follow Steve’s advice and take part in the world’s biggest wildlife survey this weekend!
ENJOY!!!

Hi Tom.
It's amazing to think the fastest 60 mins of January, will soon be upon us. I get the feeling this is going to be the biggest Big Garden Birdwatch ever by a country mile :-)
