I have only recently noticed redpolls feeding on my niger seed feeders. They seem to dominate the goldfinches which are usually there. My latest sighting there were aboutn six of them fighting over the nigeer seeds. I have never seen redpolls in my garden beford.
Hi phyllbos and welcome to the forum.
Redpolls do seem to be visiting feeders much more these days than in the past. I only ever see them in the winter though whereas Goldfinches are an all year round bird. Mine seem to happily co-exist with Goldies. If anything I find that Goldies are the bullies.
Let's hope they stick around for the BGBW.

I also have redpoll visitors - last year up to about 30 at once, and I find they mix well with the goldies.
Cheers, Linda.

I had 5 this morning on a silver birch tree in the garden. Never seen any before in my garden, a first for the BGBW. Off this afternoon to buy a new nyger seed feeder!
