will try a photo. Hope you can see the parrot!! It was in the middle of the lake in the park. We saw a few but only this one sat long enough!!

my photos can be seen here flickr
neither have I. I can see where to add them when you initiate a thread, but I've seen others add pics and videos to their responses, so there must be a way!

I think I did it!!
excellent - but what about videos? I can only see how to put them on from utube or the web not from my computer
darn - I have a sound recording (mp4) from my phone that I'm trying to insert for an id of what's causing my blackbird to make such a noise
Cheers Alan - did that! Was trying to bob between 2 threads, feed the garden and the house.
Marmite - well done.........I didn't know you'd already managed to 'capture' one. Looking forward to actually seeing one in the flesh. Didn't know that they'd travelled so far north
for some reason I am not getting told when there are responses on here any more!! I will keep checking in!! I was pleased the picture got on OK but videos are way passed me!!! It wasn't a great shot as it wasn't there long!! Maybe one day I can spend more time at that park (I don't live in Manchester) as see a few more.
Last Dec I was in New Zealand and met a bird watcher there. He took me into the bush early one morning and showed me such a gorgeous array of birds from Tui's to fantails, amazing trying to get some of them photographed!! my favourite bird was the Puleko which is a rather silly big bird but very pretty! All blue and red
