as a recent convert to birdwatching after putting feeders on my balcony imagine how excited I was to find a bird that was not a usual sight - I get lots of blue tits, great tits and the odd coal tit along with a Robin feeding - but this bird was very pretty and would sit for longer so I could get a good look at him. It took a while to identify him but the rspb sight was very helpful. So imagine my surprise the other day when there were 2 of them and the Robin all on the balcony at the same time with lots of territorial singing going on! I also have a female chaffinch - at least I think it is - so am now trying to spot her mate!
its better than watching telly and I can iron in front of the balcony door and watch them feed - wonderful
