I managed to get a couple but not very good quality. I've only just started using my camera and still need to learn all about taking photos! DId anyone else get any good pictures? Would love to see them.
whats this little beauty ?
Yes, I took photographs, but only to get a proper count. When the blue tits and the long tailed tits turn up mob handed it's very difficult to count them accurately when they are all milling about. Also, as a newbie, it helps identification.
Are you referring to the above photo of the grey and yellow bird? If it is, it's a Grey Wagtail.
I took some! some were blurred as the birds come and go so fast!
i've put them on my flickr account http://www.flickr.com/photos/snorlaxjen/
"A bird does not sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song" - chinese proverb
I didn't get any this year as I did my very disappointing count of one seagull, one robin and one speckled wagtail towards the end of the day when light was failing fast.
I'll do my hour in the morning next year.
From Aaron Siskind: Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.
have blackbird with half white face
i manged to snap this thrush not sure if its a song or missel any ideas
I put a few photos in my Orchardfarm gallery here on RSPB.
Note: Robin photo is from earlier in Jan.
Had a great hour with the regular Blackbirds, starlings (only 2), bluetits, a woodpecker, longtail tits a whole flock of ring doves (29) in the old brambly apple tree and a flock of mistlethrushes on the paddock (around 45). All in all a typical Orchard Farm day as I found a mixture of feeds that work for me. Nearly out of apples though :-(
This was a surprise visitor during my hour of birdwatching. Haven't seen a redwing since December but this just showed up for 5 minutes high up in this tree towards the end of the hour.
