my best vistior in my garden would have to be the goldcrest he is so cute and when ever he comes in the garden he flys down to my pool and has a little bath .
wow never seen one at all and he would be my best vistor too, but at the mo my best visitor is 4 pairs of long tailed tits
I always look forward to seeing the little robin that pops into our garden. I can't beat my dad though - he lives by a beck/open countryside and has many birds in his 'back garden' including a woodpecker, a kingfisher and a sparrowhawk!
I have found in the last two years a frequent visitor to my garden is a sparrowhawk. It certainly is an interesting one, but wouldn't say 'best' as it has taken two small sparrows that I've seen, which I know is natural, however still makes me feel sad :( One sparrow actually escaped into a thick climber on the wall, but was so terrified it carried on screeching for half an hour!
Housesparrows. Because we used to have them 30 years ago then 6 years ago they disappeared. This year, they have come back and we are thrilled.
My highlight was definitely the male blackcap - I've never seen one before. Fierce little thing though - he didn't like sharing the bird feeder with the other birds! Also fascinated by two robins having an aerial fight over territory while a third (presumably female) robin sat in our apple tree patiently waiting to see who would win.
was disappointed in my input to BGBW - blue tits, Coal tits, great tits, greenfinches, siskins all disappeared when I needed them ...our [apparently] resident Fieldfare showed up however - he/she is very nice and appears to have decided to hang around.
Can't wait for the Summer birds to arrive.
I have a blackbird visit every day, who doesn't like to share, especially with other blackbirds, although he's not keen on robins or thrushes either! He stands guard in the garden when he has finished eating. Amazingly, he doesn't seem too bothered by 12/15 sparrows around him eating.
Had a great turnout for BGBW (much to my amazement )all the usual suspects but my favourite has to have been a Redpoll which seemed to be tagging along with a group of goldfinches.
I just had a Blackcap on my hanging bird feeder.! Took me a while to realise what it was.
My best visitors have to be the Great Spotted Woodpecker, Treecreeper & two pairs of Brambling.
