I know the photo isn't brilliant, but 5 species of finch in one shot was quite good? (Hawfinch, Greenfinch, Bullfinch, Brambling and Chaffinch).
Some of our regular species did not turn up, but we still had 26 species in an hour this morning.
The female Hawfinch arrived yesterday.
That is impressive, well done on the pictures, brilliant!!!
It's an awesome picture, I have only ever seen a Hawfinch once and that was up in Thetford forrest. What part of the country do you live in, Dean ???
Feed The Birds....not the cats!!!!
I know....my spelling's crap !!
We live in Southern edge of Forest of Dean, a very rural spot outside a village with just orchard and fiels behind. We did have one the whole Winter a few years ago.
Back again this morning for third day.
How amazing, so jealous! I'm lucky to see more than a couple of chaffinches and a greenfinch. Mind you,I live within the M25 (just), so can't expect miracles.
Toadflax.
loving your pic so i retouched up for you finchies rule and what a touch
Thank you Moorey. I took it through double glazing from about 20m away on a dull day. You have certaily brightened it up. I will try next time to include the goldfinches and siskins on a close-by niger seed feeder - seven species on one photo would be even better! Another photo of just the Hawfinch attached.
your very lucky to have all these finchies, to be fair today is the 1st day ive know about hawfinchies hope you dont mind but ive touched your pic up again.
