I have had a brilliant day doing the big garden bird watch, i have been so lucky! for the first time ever i had not one, but 2 black redstarts in my garden, and they remained for about 3 hours. It's a shame i did'nt have my camera charged up, i could have got some brilliant pictures, i just hope that they will return tomorrow, so watch this space!
Wow lucky you:
Digital team said: There is a good spring passage of black redstarts through the UK and Ireland and they can turn up anywhere, but particularly at the coast. On return passage in autumn, they can be relatively numerous in places like the Isles of Scilly and Cornwall.
