There were so many fewer birds to record in the garden than were here before Christmas. Only 2 Blue Tits and 2 Great Tits, and no Coal Tits. When I was watching in December, there were at least a dozen of each coming to the feeders. Same story with Goldfinches. The Sparrows, Blackbirds, Starlings, Woodpigeon pair and Collared Dove pair are still about.
I think it may be because it was so cold last month that more birds were coming to feed in our gardens. I even had redwings and fieldfares but after the cold spell they disappeared again.
