Hi everyone. I am looking forward to mthe BGBW. However, just lately, a male pied wagtail has been very dominanant around the bird table and surrounding area. He won't even let his mate feed. He spends so much time chasing away other birds his size and smaller , that he often doesn't doesn't eat himself! Is he just a one off or do other people find that this happpens. Apart from providing feed away from the table, I don't know what else to do. The blue tits and great tits are scared to death of him.He struts about like a little king.
Hi we have 2 wagtails in our garden. And yes they try 2 dominate our garden feeders. I sprinking a little food & soom water nearer the house away from the feeders. The wagtails now protect that area more so the other birds get a look in. Our robin, fights back , the wagtails know where they stand with him.
Thanks Samanda, I will certainly try this.
