I am registered but would like to download a sheet with the birds that need ticking off on it, as I had last year. Are you still doing this?
Thanks, Val.
Best wishes
Val.
I had a regular roosting BT in only one year. Mine was keeping the nestbox clean, but I don't know if that tells anything. As far as I know bluetits will often clear out the whole nestbox before building a nest (throwing out old nest material or other stuff that is in the box). Perhaps they will also clean out the poo first. I have never seen this myself because my nestbox was alwas empty and clean before that.
Check my birdbox!
The web page 'How to Take Part' has, in the third section, the comment: "...or by mail if you'd rather fill out a paper form."
A friend would like to do just that.
However, the printable sheet says "please don't send us this sheet". Is there any way to submit it by post, or is this option now redundant?
I'm done!
I've done mine too. I got 15 species but not in great numbers. Like you, Firefly, Goldfinch came out the most numerous and I was pleased that my Jay pair came together otherwise I would only have had a count of one. What did surprise me that I only got one Wood Pigeon. Usually, there are three or four waddling about the garden hoovering up everything.
I am glad I did it early because the garden is now a bird free zone.

TeeJay, 15 species is very good! In my case some of the regulars didn't show up, like nuthatch and Gr spotted woodpecker. But I was lucky that a flock of goldfinches passed through my garden and I nailed the green woodpecker for the first time during a Big Garden Birdwatch. It was so gorgeous that I "wasted" a lot of time enjoying it!
Great weather here too this morning!
We only had a few birds
4 Blackbirds
2 Dunnocks
4 Magpies
Starlings on strike despite the food I put out for them.

17 birds and 7 species including robin, sparrows, blue tits, black birds, goldfinches and collared doves - best one a Grey Wagtail who I haven't seen before in the garden. The lovely weather certainly helped.
I had no problems sending my results on-line this year, unlike last year when there where huge problems. I didn't have many birds, but here is what i saw.
2 House Sparrows
2 Blue Tits
1 Great Tit
1 Blackbird
Regards,
Ian.
The web site isn't clear, but I think I remember from last year that only birds actively using the garden space should be recorded - or can I record 'fly-overs' as well ??
Yes, Ron, you remembered correctly. Just birds that use your garden and not fly-overs
