Wow, what a start Jim with those fabulous photos and the lighting on them is exceptional;  you don't expect me to follow that do you ?   LOL    for now, you'll have to put up with these three .....

and difficult choice for a 3rd pic but as this beautiful Purple Heron has now left Leighton Moss, I couldn't help but add this saved pic of it as if saying goodbye;  was wonderful to see this bird three times over the several weeks that it thrilled all the visitors with its magnificent presence ........

It’s a nice Rock Pipit and always nice to see an Egret with its wings open it was either that one above or one with its wings open but glad I went with that because you have posted one :)

I would have loved to have go a picture of the Purple Heron in flight but only got one while it was in the reeds and it looked just like a Heron :) lets hope it or other call round again next year.
