For months, now, we've had a beautiful pale morph buzzard lurking on the reserve. I usually either hear it's been floating around at the Island Mere Hide or I see it in the distance from the North Wall, a pale blur in the trees. This all changed on Wednesday as, unbelievably, it circled in the air directly over Island Mere while I was there to see it! You can imagine the camera went into machine-gun mode:
You can imagine I came away very happy!
Enjoy, because I know I did.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Wow, stunning captures Clare, what a beautiful buzzard, so glad you finally caught up with it on camera.
