I wasn't running as early as I would have liked yesterday, which meant that I didn't really have time to head out on to the reserve before starting my afternoon Reception shift. After enjoying a nice, hot cup of tea I decided to see what was around the Visitor Centre:
Mr Chaffinch .............
............. and his subtly beautiful Mrs.
This lovely blackbird refused to be snapped outside of the bush.
This blue tit thought it was out of photographic range ............ gotcha!
I had to include this magpie with its glowing colours!
As I was standing outside I heard someone behind me commenting that a coal tit on the toilet roof was caching some food! I turned around and, sure enough, there it was:
Awwww! I didn't realise these tiny birds did anything like this.
'Does this spot look good?'
'Maybe not'
'Decisions, decisions'
'Here we go'
I hope you all enjoy these.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Lovely set Clare-great captures of the Coal Tit. My garden Tits rummage around in the lichen/moss caught in the traps that we have on the roof guttering, always fascinating to watch this behaviour
