He has such beautiful colours.
That golden eye is very striking.
It amazes me to see how flexible birds' necks are!

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

I didn't see this yesterday, lovely colours on the Shoveler and he is quite a chunky bird it seems, good photos Clare.

Lovely sequence Clare- amazing colours and beak. I was surprised how low to the ground they were the first time I saw them out of water,and they look even odder when they walk!
