I headed out for a look around the Scrape today, wondering how much I'd be able to see in the misty conditions. I needn't have worried as there was plenty about:
I couldn't resist this rabbit pottering about near the pond. Awwwww.
A female blackbird peers at me from a dripping branch.
A herring gull takes off from the East Scrape.
A magpie shows his beautiful wings.
This teal looked lovely with his reflection showing so clearly.
'D'OH!' This male mallard looked less than dignified.
A shelduck builds up to ramming speed. He sounded really grumpy as well!
Now that's a look! What an expressive shoveler.
A robin poses on the WW2 defences.
A greylag goose tries, and fails, to hide in the mist.
A foraging moorhen.
A meadow pipit seen from the South Hide.
A redshank, also from the South Hide.
A little egret, from the Wildlife Lookout. It flew off just after I took this.
Just after the egret left, this marsh harrier appeared. Now there's a coincidence!
I couldn't resist this thoughtful looking robin in the woods.
The woods were also full of blackbirds busily hunting through leaves.
The blue tits love the feeders!
Yes! Got the marsh tit.
Enjoy, as always.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Great set of photos Clare, good variety too, favourite has to be the Marsh Tit as have never seen any, well done.
Lot to learn
Great photo of the Marsh Tit. I have only seen one and that was at Minsmere. I was watching the bird feeder outside the Café while I was eating my Bacon Butty.
Gaynorsl if you can visit Minsmere? That is a good place to spot the Marsh Tit, nice and close too to get some Photos.

She'd have to come on holiday to Suffolk, Nick. I'm fairly sure she lives on the island of Anglesey. Saying that, since we hosted Springwatch we've had people coming from all over the UK for a holiday in the Minsmere area - it would be brilliant to meet some forumites among them.
Yes Nickbarn Clare is right I do live up here on Anglesey.....but Clare never say never is my new motto for 2017, I've just returned tonight from seeing my first Panto with the Grandkids, so that's a good start. It was good, o'h no it wasn't......!!
You'd love Suffolk. We don't have choughs but we have bitterns!
So I've heard:-)
