Take a sneak peek into the amazing wildlife of the Loch Arkaig pine forest with our live Osprey Cam, supported by players of People's Postcode Lottery.
This year, a live nest camera will allow us to keep a close-eye on an osprey pair who have been returning to Loch Arkaig for more than 10 years. The pair failed to breed last year but we’re hopeful that 2017 will be different. Can you help us chart significant moments in their life?

What is happening ? I can't get Dyfi chat
I checked in at Louis nest, around 11:30 it was snowing just as at Loch Garten. No Louis in sight.
And at 16:48 he was back, with a lil sunlight:

Thanks for your report Chrisy.
Louis was working hard on his nest yesterday when I last looked, he had some nice hay/grass and was placing it. Lets hope some female passing over decides to pair up with him.
No sign of him this morning though, snow has stopped progress.

Louis Arkaig @ 8:48 (what a difference with LG right now!)
louis Arkaig's nest @ 10:19h, for comparison with earlier this morning and with how it is at LG...
Unless I have got caught up in the recording and not live for this site, all the snow has melted.
14:12 Louis eating fish on the nest...
Louis is still waiting up on the beautiful Loch Arkaig....
Well I think it is him, he won't turn around to I get a better look at his chest :-)
Have I got enough bedding!!

Louis has left now, and I have to say what a stunning location he has for a nest.....
So many females with no nest that we know off too, oh how I wish for him to get a mate.
The beautiful Loch Arkaig - these are NOT my photo's by the way....
Yes, you are right MaryGK, such a beautiful nest site. I too really feel for Louis without wishing to anthropomorphise too much! But it does break one's heart to see him building the nest so busily and waiting expectantly.... I wonder if ospreys feel a sense of disappointment/loss/futility when they can't find a mate? I am reminded of poor Dai Dot who sadly hasn't been seen this year. Wishing Blue 24 or any female would make their way over to this handsome boy and his des res asap.
Looks like Louis has a female visiting him, she has been here for a couple of hours now, and is food soliciting. Lets hope she stays and the nest is successful.
@ 2005 hrs. Only one on the nest now.
I took this capture of the female on the nest @ 18.57
Looks like Louis might be in luck?
Birdies LG DU update.
Snap MaryGK! It's great, isn't it??!!!
EDIT: And snap Mike too!!!!!!!!
She looks like just what Louis needs
Female is still there food soliciting
I think this must be a new female as he just flew in with a clump of moss and then mantled.
Oh well I hope she stays and lays eggs for the Lonely Louis :-)
Looks like the female still on the nest this morning, and Louis is doing a Skydance for her.... Hope he has a fish :-)
Good morning Mary. He's there now on the nest still mantling!!
Louis has arrived I think empty taloned as I just caught the end of a failed mating attempt, didn't catch a snip of it though.
He has gone again now, hopefully to get a fish for her.... :-)
He is back and more mantling - Cmon Louis she is food begging - get her a fish and yer in there LOL
She is still food soliciting....
Louis leaves, then flies in with a clump of moss - Och Louis ye need to get her a fish! LOL....
All he does is mantle and collect moss. He's gone again!
Well they say he had a partner last year Mike, don't think this is her though, lets hope he can bring this one a fish and they get on with what needs to be getting on with :-)
Did you see that mating attempt Mike, he was all over the place, and no where near the right place!
I find it hard to believe that this guy has ever bred before! He just looks too young and almost frightened? I've seen chicks being ringed looking more positive!
Well one thing for sure, he is ace at gathering moss, he has just brought in another clump :-)
That looked like a better attempt :-)
Good morning what a fascinating morning watching these two. I agree Mike he seems like a young bird but he likes his moss.
At last!!!!!. Looked a success!!
Yes Mike, it certainly did, he has just been out of practise Ha Ha.....
