2 weeks off- here we go:

Spent the morning around Lakenheath and Swaffham

Tree Pipit, Yellowhammer, Cuckoo , Common Tern , Nightingale, Lesser Whitethroat, Willow, Sedge and Reed Warbler, Blackcap , Chiffchaff

Stonechat, GSWP, LRP, Avocet, Marsh Harrier.

Year list reaches 165

Hi-

very few summer migrants around but did see 6 Dotterel, a few Ruff and Wheatears

Dotterel have been reported from their usual moorland stopping sites unfortunately we have not been in a position to see them. We have had Wheatear with young on the moors. We caught up with a nice Wood Sandpiper yesterday but the reported two Bar Tailed Godwits at the same site turned out to be Black Tailed which we have had a big passage of this year.

Had an early start at Frampton - Greenshank sp 167 on the reservoir- heaps of Blackwits and Ruff,
Not many hirundines but found a smart Little Stint sp 168 in Sum Plum:
Good views of Cuckoo but no Turtle Doves.

An early start walking around Dersingham bog - Tree Pipit, Woodlark, Gropper warbler,
and Turtle Doves at Snettisham -169:
Still no Swifts though!

Mrs S got given a book of walks in Norfolk so we tried one- took bins:
We saw cuckoos and found a Ring Ouzel and a Wheatear:

Dropped in on an east coast reserve later and Mrs S thought she'd found some swifts- they were Hobbies :) 171

Also saw LRP. Temmincks Stint , Wood Sands and 2 Black Winged Stilts flew past us :) 172

Well it's back to work tomorrow- but plenty of bank hols coming up and a few days out and organised day trips to boost the list.
