A photo to start this years post - Snowdrops.
Last years post can be found here: https://community.rspb.org.uk/chat/f/the-tea-rooms/282072/plants-flowers-and-shrubs-2023-share-your-photos-here
That seems very early for a Daff... Taken today at Wimpole Estate Cambridgeshire: https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/cambridgeshire/wimpole-estate
(Pardon the Scottish Accent)
Apologies for not finding this sooner, and thank you to Snappy Mac for setting the 2024 thread going, and thank you to Linda for the info so I can contribute my photos.
The snowdrops are out at Baddesley, and many other places, so a good excuse to start the Plants, Flowers and Shrubs 2024 thread with.
Sadly I wasn't feeling well, so I didn't hang around nor was I able to get down and close for better photos, but I'll be back, soon.
and of course, the daffs in the garden starting to show nicely.
I think the bluebell shoots are showing well, but I'm not sure. The look like bluebells, but in twenty years, there's never been bluebells in that part of the garden..... Photos to follow.

I've had a closer look at my suspected bluebells, and they are bulbs, akin to bluebell bulbs, and thinking about the first signs I've seen in the past, they're a little early which probably isn't surprising in view of the mild weather and incessant wet stuff....
The puzzling part is how they got there!
After this mornings very enjoyable walk, I feel another trip to Baddesley to get some better pics later this week.

The spanish infiltrators multiply at a much faster rate than the natives, well, in my garden they do ... I thinks elves move them about during the hours of darkness! Lol

Elves DO move them around.
I was chatting to my gardener last night, he is the elf. Apparently he was looking for somewhere to place the bulbs so they didn't die with the aim to replant them back this year, while the original location required weed removal to sow fresh grass seed. That planter was due to have some plants in this year, that liked to be exposed, and were not bothered about shallow soil beds.
He apologised for not telling me, didn't expect the BB's to grow due to the planter not being shaded and very shallow, so between us, we were both very pleasantly surprised.
Next year perhaps, but nature is fascinating.
Taken at Wimpole NT today.
