Hi I just wondered if anyone can tell me what I should do about these birds nesting in my extractor fan cupboard please and if anyone knows what they are
So sorry you've not had any replies Matt ... I can't advise as I can't recognise the chicks ... don't know where you are but there is a very knowledgeable guy in Sheerness, Kent who could likely advise you by phone, his name is Ray
He is currently feeding very young chicks himself & also advising another poster on here who is trying to hand rear Great Tit chicks!

Sorry Matt, I simply don't know what to advise ... have alerted Robbo in case he can help!
Btw, are parents still feeding the chicks?
Hi Matt, at a guess I would say Starlings. I have attached a link for you to look at. www.littlepeckers.co.uk/.../Starling Avoid using the fan, you will also need to be careful and not use the cooker on a high heat. They normally only have one clutch in a year, bit if they start nesting early they may have a second. It is illegal to move or interfere with a nest until the breeding season is over, normally boxes and sites are cleaned out Octber time. This is awkward, considering where the nest is. Once these birds have well and truly left the nest and there are no signs of the birds using the nest again, you may be able to do this earlier, you would need to seek proper advice on this from the council or environmental health or similar folk who can advise you. When you do remove the nest, you will have to see how and where they were getting in, and secure the site, to avoid this happening again.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Yes please do Matt, you will have to find different, tasty, exciting microwave meals for a while. Mind you nowadays there is a huge range of lovely meals, so you will have a big choice.
