I got 13 thanks to your clues, Hazel. I'm still strugling with 5 and 12. I can think of a few 4 letter herbivores but can't link it to software. Just being stupid methinks.

Finally got there. No 4 came to me last night and No 12 this morning. It's funny how one can struggle with the blindingly obvious.
Now have 6 answers, Christmas will be here before I get the rest :-)
