Welcome to the RSPB Communities Christmas Advent calendar! Rather than chocolates (sorry), with each day that leads up to the big day, why not open a virtual Advent calendar window and reveal a teaser for you to ponder or post a picture. There is no right or wrong answer, the answers will simply be what you want to appear in that window. It’s Christmas, so let’s have some fun!Claire
We have a pond with all the various wildlife that attracts, some hedgehog houses that have had inhabitants, a few bird boxes that haven't, along with various log piles and less cultivated areas. Oh - and this lady moved in and was fed and protected by Mrs WJ for some time!

We put in a small wildlife pond & have had 2 species of dragonfly hatch from it, plus waterboatmen & skimmers. 3 nesting boxes including this one for black redstarts.
Leaf piles, Wood piles & generally messy garden including an old railway bank covered in ivy & brambles. Plus organic veggie plot.
Best wishes

Day 17:Where would you go in the world to watch wildlife and what you likely see?
Anywhere where I might see wolves!

I would like to visit Australia to see such animals as the Tazmanian Devil and see all of Australia's unique wildlife and I would also like to visit the Galabacos Islands.
Regards,
Ian.
I would love to see snow leopards - so Mountains of Central Asia

Have to say that I'd also like to visit anywhere in the Tropics to see some of the fantastic insects that reside there!! :-)
It's a toss up between visiting Mull to see the white tailed eagle or visiting the Andes to see the condors.
I've already been to Speyside to see EJ and Odin!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
I have to be honest & say that I wouldn't go anywhere else in the world to watch wildlife, there is too much to see around here & I'm not a great traveller or tourist. I love days out locally with a sandwich lunch. Holidays for me are anywhere within a days drive!!
Maybe the Pyrenees to watch raptors or any of the migration "hotspots" where birds do their short sea crossings.
