Welcome to the RSPB Communities Christmas Advent calendar! Rather than chocolates (sorry), with each day that leads up to the big day, why not open a virtual Advent calendar window and reveal a teaser for you to ponder or post a picture. There is no right or wrong answer, the answers will simply be what you want to appear in that window. It’s Christmas, so let’s have some fun!Claire

For myself I do love the Red Squirrel and we still have them up here in North East England and I've seen them on a number of occasions.
Regards,
Ian.
I love the horse and also the dolphin, the lion, the elephant.....I could go on forever. This was take by my 13 year old daughter while we were in Scotland.

For the hours spent sat hunched down waiting to catch a glimpse in the late spring evenings whilst getting eaten by midges it has to be old brock, although if I can have a vote based purely on cuteness a hazel dormouse is hard to beat!

Actually, thinking about it this afternoon, MOLES come a close second. They are SO beautiful. Our first house in France had a lawn with loads of holes in. In the barn were smoke bombs, but when I read the packet I almost cried, threw them away & haven't looked back. You learn to live with them. There are "solar molars" as we call them that keep the moles off the nice bits & let them live in the rough bits. Our cats would occasionally dig them up, unhurt, & we just released them at the end of the garden. They are SO lovely. I seriously fell out with friends of friends recently who used poison or something horrible & asked them how they would like to poisoned & fumigated because their face didn't fit. Oh dear thats another place we won't be asked back. Seriously though, some people bury cut glass because moles are haemophaeliacs (sorry can't spell it). Their punishment will be metered out one day I hope. I LOVE MOLES!!
Best wishes

I love foxes, they are beautiful. Occasionaly see them where I live, but not as often as I would like. Shame they have been getting some bad publicity lately.
