Hello I'm new to the community

Seeing as the topic of conversation seems to be .........

THE THRUSH FAMILY......... Over the past few weeks we (here in Salisbury) have had our fair share of ice and snow, our latest, fall last night and this morning, 10 hours of snow, settling on top of what we had already, making things worse for the birds trying to forage for food to survive.
I have been madly feeding sun...flower hearts, fat, leftovers, seed, dates, niger seed, suet sticks, leftover cooked porridge and potato not to mention apples bought cheaply from or local market. We have of course seen thousands of the usual suspects visiting our feeding station.
Most gratifying for us was the sighting of three Song Thrushes, (not seen for many years in our garden) one of which is almost permanently in residence. The other sightings worthy of note was Redwing and Fieldfare at our feeding station, and even Mistle Thrush visiting to feed on Rose hips in a neighbour's garden. It was a privilege to see four members of the Thrush family all in one day without stepping foot outside!!
