I have never been on a forum before in my life, always been a bit slow at taking on new ideas. I only got a mobile about five years ago, thought they were a waste of time and money until my car broke down for the umpteenth time right across a junction in the rush hour on the way to work, and no phone box to be seen for what felt like miles.
I so wanted to tell someone who may appreciate the fact that we have a Sparrow Hawk that visits our garden every now and then and my boyfriend suggested this site. I'm glad he did, I have been reading some of the posts on the forums and find them fascinating, although I do feel that most of you seem to be more experienced in bird world than I.
I have always loved birds since I little but only really became interested in them more since I moved in with my boyfriend about four years ago. We have such a lovely variety of birds that visit our garden; I have put some photos on my page. Do I need to put them in the galleries section for all to see or can you go to my page and see them there?
Like I said before, I have never been on a forum so not really sure what or how to do things.
Thanks for reading my ramblings

Smile - Life is Good
Hi Mag.
Welcome to the forum. If you're new to web forums and love wildlife, this is probably the best place to start. Well to be honest its to only wildlife forum I post in at the moment. I'm positive you'll enjoy posting here.

Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Hello Mag and welcome to the forum. I am sure you will enjoy it here as there are lots of friendly and knowledgeable people ready and willing to share experiences, and give help where they can. We can visit your page to view your photos or you can include them in your posts if you want to tell or ask something specific. If you have a look around the posts you will see what I mean. And if you need more info, just ask. We all had to start somewhere so we know how daunting it can seem.

The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
Hi Mag, welcome to the forum. I've had a quick look at your Gallery. Great stuff! What was the sparrow Hawks prey in your photos? If you put your garden visitors in the garden visitor gallery they will still appear on your page as well. hope this is of help.
John
For viewing or photography right place right time is everything. I'd rather be in the right place with poor kit than have the best kit and be in the wrong place.
Hello & welcome Mag!! This is a great forum and I'm sure you'll enjoy it very much! Shall have a nosey at your piccies now! :-)

Hi John,
The sparrow hawks prey was a pigeon, I didn't think they preyed on anything that large.
Thank you for your advise on the garden visitor gallery

Thanks Mag,
Wow! that makes her quite a size. Generally the female takes big prey like that as she is so much bigger than the male. He normally sticks to Sparrow size prey. Thanks again for sharing and I hope you enjoy the forum
Hi mag, the more people on the forum the better, your most welcome
Hi Mag, welcome to the forum, I'm going to go and check out your sparrowhawk photos now!
Millie & Fly the Border Collies
Hi all,
I have just realised that I am getting all the credit for the pictures on my page, when in fact it was my boyfriend that took them. I have passed on all your comments on to him. I was always at work and he works from home so gets to see more than I did.
At the moment I am out of work so hopefully I will get to see as much as he does now.
